Regional area of Boy Scout Trail : in the Prescott National Forest, near Prescott, Prescott Valley, Chino Valley, Yavapai County, Arizona.

DIRECTIONS
NOTE: The best way into the trail head that I found was to go east on Gurley from downtown Prescott to Overland (which is the last street just before the bend that changes Gurley into Rt 69) - turn (right) ie south on Overland - then (left) on Butterfield - then (right) on Wells Fargo. Take Wells Fargo up around a bend then just before you get to the sharp left turn in the road you will see a sign on the right side marking the gravel road entrance to the Turley Trail Head. Go up the gravel road to the gate, open and close the gate behind you and proceed to the trail head parking area. About 5 to 6 cars will fit the parking area. Be aware that the trail is not marked with signs very well but it is rather easy to follow. There were no trail signs that mark where the trail turns (left - east) to Boy Scout Trail (126) but when you get to a grassy meadow area about 2 miles in with allot of cut and piled pine that has an old jalopy body shell with fenders laying around (see photo gallery) that is where you will go left (east) and follow the trail through the meadow and into the creek ravine where you will meet up with Boy Scout Trail in about half a mile. I found this trail to be a fun little .9 mile connecting trail. Either way you come into the trail you will need to hike a couple miles to get to it, but once you are there it adds a unique experience to the hike. It's follows the creek bed from the connecting point at the southern end of Turley Trail to the intersect at Ranch Trail TR 62. Most of the trail is narrow and winds along the sides of the creek ravine area often crossing the creek offering great views of that area. You will find lots of pine trees, some cactus and other unique native vegetation growing on the walls of the ravine along the way too. There stillwas some snow on the trail where the sun could not reach it to melt it off. The ravine is deep enough to offer some shade from the southern sun and offers that good feeling of hiking through a small canyon. The trail is reasonably easy to follow and appears to be well maintained. If you come into the trail from the Turley Trail side you will be hiking up hill to TR 62.
