My trail hike review --- My trail rating: 1

Regional area of Chimbly Water Trail : in the Granite Basin Recreational Area of the Prescott National Forest, near Prescott, Prescott Valley, Chino Valley, Yavapai County, Arizona.
DIRECTIONS
From downtown Prescott take Montezuma North - it turns into Whipple and then into Iron Springs Road. Turn right onto Forest Road 374 into the Granite Basin Recreational Area. Just before the Granite Basin Lake parking area you will see a fee parking area on your right. Trail maps are normally by fee box.

This is a short little connecting trail that you will need to use to get to and complete several of the trails in the park. The trail is wide, well set up and well maintained. The first section starts next to the paved Forest Service road and heads north through tall pines. You will go through a horse gate and continue up into scenic rocky boulder areas.
Beware. You will see a pic in this group of a large old dead pine that fell on the trail the day or two before I hiked through. The forest services warns that in windy weather there is very strong possility that trees can fall over onto the trail or YOU - so when you are hiking in these areas be sure to be aware of that possibility and take the appropriate actions.
Bikers and horses were on the trail with me today.
Enjoy the Hike!
