My trail hike review --- My trail rating: 5

Regional area of Mint Wash Trail : in the Granite Basin Recreational Area of the Prescott National Forest, near Prescott, Prescott Valley, Chino Valley, Yavapai County, Arizona.
DIRECTIONS
Metate Trailhead
From downtown Prescott take Montezuma North - it turns into Whipple and then into Iron Springs Road. Turn right onto Forest Road 374 into the Granite Basin Recreational Area. Just before the Granite Basin Lake parking area you will see a fee parking area on your right. Trail maps are normally by fee box.
Williamson Valley Trailhead
From downtown Prescott take Montezuma North - it turns into Whipple and then into Iron Springs Road. Turn right (north) on Williamson Valley Road, cross Pioneer Parkway Road, then continue north to Williamson Valley Trailhead on your left with plenty of free parking. Start out on (west) on Tin Trough Springs TR 308, go about .5 mile and you will see the TR 345 trail sign on your left (south).

I broke this trail hike into several sections of other loop hikes as the complete trail from top to bottom is over 4 miles one way but connects up easily for 'loopers".
This is the "real McCoy". About as good as it gets in this type forest service trail. This is a well maintained and well designed horse and hiking trail. Excellent scenic views and diverse landscapes taking you through pine, grass lands, hills, winding boulder curves, cactus, creek beds and much much more.
This trail will fit into all the alternative hiking schemes. You can start or finish at either trailhead.
I really enjoyed this hike and will do it often.
Enjoy the Hike!
