My Trail Review:
The first time I found this trail I came across it while doing a "looper" on Mint Wash Trail. Looking up at the dry grassy meadow and rocky granite views I found it very appealing and decided to come back later and hike through that area. It turned out to be a rather level, easy and yet enjoyable little connection trail that loops around the granite hill just west of the Williamson Valley Trailhead and served to open my mind to moving some of my time onto these northern area trails.
Today, I started at the Williamson Valley Trailhead and headed south out of the parking / horse corral area. The trail is very flat here and runs parallel to the highway and housing on Williamson Valley Road. It then veers west as it moves along granite outcrops and more grassy meadows. You come to the connection point with Mint Wash Trail and then head north going though some awesome views and exotic shaped and colored granite rock formations. The trail is narrow here yet makes for a fun easy walk.
Clearing this area the trail meets up with the section that goes farther north. I took that connection to the right (east) and back to the parking area at the Williamson Valley Trailhead and will return to complete the remainder of the trail (about 3.5 miles) at another time.
Enjoy the Hike!
