My trail hike review --- My trail rating: 2

Regional area of ** Gold Pan Trail TR 444 : in the Prescott National Forest, Lynx Lake Recreational Area, near Prescott, Prescott Valley, Chino Valley, in Yavapai County, Arizona.
DIRECTIONS
Take highway 69 to Walker Road (County Road 57). Turn south on Walker Road for about 1+ miles, to 9401 T . You can only turn left onto this gravel access road, go past the Lynx Creek Ruin Trail TR 301 trailhead parking area on your left, cross a cattle guard, the next parking on your right is the trailhead. You will recognize it as it has a forest service potty in the gravel parking area.

This trailhead parking is not a fee area. The entrance to the trail is on the south side of the gravel parking.
I call this the Gold Pan Trail because I could not find anything but a number for it and it takes you right into and along the creek bed where gold panning is allowed. I have seen folks out gold panning the creek bed on recent hikes in this area.
This trail is a connector trail taking you up to TR442 then onto TR445 and the north end of the dam for Lynx Lake. The water in the creek flows northward lightly out of Lynx Lake coming down through this part of Lynx Creek.
Plenty of shade along the way. The trail is heavily used and not always clearly marked so you will need to keep an eye open where it turns up the ravine to the right and takes you on to the connection at TR442. If you miss that and it's easy to do because lots of folks have kept going up the creek bed in that area to where there are a couple very little "trickle" water falls and then onto the fenced area where there is a well marked "climb over here" gate spot that you end up taking a short cut and connect up with TR442 just before it connects with TR445.
This whole area has sort of an adventure feel to it. The water runs through lightly over the granite rocks creating a light rippling sound and where it pools up it is cool and crystal clear.
This is a short trail and I just used it to connect up to TR442 which I took back down to the creek bed to connect with TR445.
Short and sweet trail section.
Enjoy the Hike!
