My Trail Review:
April 2008 (pics 1 to 296) - TR62 Trailhead to Lynx Creek Ruin Trailhead
I got a late start today, around noonish so I decided to start at the TR 62 TH parking area and work my way south. Due to it's length I connected it up with the Lynx Creek TR 301 TH and did that trail also today then went back to my car the way I came rather than try to do the whole trail today. I will add in the rest of the trail in sections as I hike all the short trails within the Lynx Lake Recreational Area.
It was a wonderful Prescott spring day for hiking. A deep blue clear sky, the sun was hot but there was a cool gentle breeze making the shaded areas very enjoyable.
The first part of the trail (before it crosses Walker Rd) is wide, mostly flat ground, and grassy with lots of Pine. As soon as I crossed the highway it narrowed and began a series of winding minor elevation changing turnbacks through the ravine areas until I came out at the Lnyx Creek Ruin TR 301 trailhead (there is shade, a potty and a picnic bench here).
The birds were out chirping and I saw a few hawks circling, some very industrious ants cleaning their sizable ant hill but not much else moving along the trail. The wind would lightly rustle through the Pine tree tops taking my mind back to lazy summer days out hiking where I grew up.
The trail is well marked and maintained. I found this to be an enjoyable and relaxing section of trail.
May 2008 (pics 297 to 397) Lynx Creek Ruin Trailhead to Access Road 611
I used this section of TR 305 for a "looper" connector trail to get to trails TR442 and TR443. Trail is flat, well maintained and marked and easy to follow. Watch for bikes. At the end you will see a section spur to the right and a green metal gate - you can ignore this as you will bear to the left, then go up the hill to the access road 611 and parking area north of the lake by the dam.
Enjoy the Hike!

MAP AND DIRECTION TIPS
Take highway 69 to Walker Road (County Road 57). Turn south on Walker Road for 0.5 miles to the signed TR 62 turnoff for the northern (lower) trailhead parking lot on the right. Also see "more info" tab at top of page for Forest Service Trail Map link.
* you can also enter the trail from it's south side TH off Walker Rd. Follow the above directions but keep on going south several miles on Walker Rd, shortly after you cross Forest Service Road FR 25 you will see the TH signs and parking.
** because of the length of this trail it would make an excellent "alternate" hiking scenerio like a "keywee" or "park'n'hop".
