Regional area of Lakeside Trail : in the Prescott National Forest, Lynx Lake Recreational Area, near Prescott, Prescott Valley, Chino Valley, in Yavapai County, Arizona.

DIRECTIONS

Take highway 69 to Walker Road (County Road 57). Turn south on Walker Road for 2+ miles to the signed Lynx Lake access road 611 turnoff on your left. Go all the way back to the trailhead parking area which is also a north side Lynx Lake parking area for access to the recreation lake area.

May 2008
Another warm, clear blue sky and sunny day. Some breeze was blowing and it was cooler today. Lots of shade along the way and even view benches and concrete walk way viewers out onto the lake.

You can find and start into the trail on the east side of the parking area, north of the lake by the dam. There are picnic tables there and a wooden step system that takes you down to the lake level right along side of the dam discharge area. Once you get down you may see where the trail to the left (going east over the dam) is blocked for the eagles nesting area. Turn to the right follow the trail by the lake and soon you will come across the boat dock area, continuing on you follow right along the lake side.

It was mothers day today and there was lots of activity on the lake from boating, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, hiking and picnics. The wind rustled the top of the water adding that final touch to the lake experience.

The Lakeside Trail is asphalt and very well maintained, it is not very long, has pottys and basic amenities on both ends. On the north end where I started from there is even a little grocery for the campers and a restaurant inside so this trail offers families a lot to do once you get here.

Great views of the lake and some of the best outdoor recreation facilities in Arizona.

Enjoy the Hike!
