Regional area of Lynx Creek Ruin Trail: in the Prescott National Forest, near Prescott, Prescott Valley, Chino Valley, Yavapai County, Arizona.

DIRECTIONS

Take highway 69 to Walker Road (County Road 57). Turn south on Walker Road for about 1+ miles, to 9401 T . You can only turn left onto this gravel access road, follow it back to the Lynx Creek Ruin Trail TR 301 trailhead parking area which will be on your left.

April 2008

This trail has it's own trailhead and parking area with plenty of parking, a potty, picnic table and shade. The entrance to the trail is well marked and the trail is well marked and maintained with benches along the way to sit down, relax and enjoy the views.

There are a couple boxes with brochures near the entrance gate to the trail. One will tell you all about the fauna that is maked with numbered post signs along the way (see photo gallery for examples).

This is a very enjoyable and scenic short family trail. It is both rather easy to do and educational so would make a great day hike for families with younger children who can walk and explore with you. When you get to the top you will find the ancient Indian ruins along with informative markers and even a wood view deck where you can see pearl blue Lynx Lake far below you in the pine forest.

Enjoy the Hike!
