My Trail Review:

June 2008
I have hiked this a couple times now and enjoyed it each time. It is a flat easy to follow extremely well maintained scenic city trail. Just rural enough you need to pay attention to the "critter" warnings as they do roam this area and some are not friendly. You will probably see antelope grazing and a possible snake or taranchula (see photo gallery) along the way!

The trail is wide and well used. Many cyclists use the trail and even though they are supposed to yield to hikers it is best to be ready to get yourself, children and pets out of their way as they pass by you. Most  were courteous and friendly when I hiked but if they are novice they might not know how to safely come up on and pass you with out getting caught up in the dog leash or bumping a human so beware and stay alert.

Wear a hat and sunglasses and bring plenty of water with you as there is almost no shade on this trail and it can get really hot in the direct sun light. Bring some extra water for your pet too they will need it!

Unless you plan on doing a very long "
park 'n' hop" ie leave a car at the Peavine Trailhead or a "keewee" ie swap car keys when you pass your friends coming from the other direction plan on hiking in to the Peavine Trail intersection and back out to the Glassford Hill Trailhead.

The trail is very easy to follow and well marked all the way. There are many interesting old artifacts (see photo gallery)  from the old railroad system that the Iron King Trail replaced. At the far end just before you get to the Peavine Trail there are some beautiful vista views and great looking rock formations too - so it worth going all the way!

Enjoy the hike!
