I stumbled onto this little park trail while checking out the Forest area around the Payson Ranger Station. I call this the ** "Short Work Out Trail". I did not see any formal signs or name posted but it gives you a good idea of the original intent of the little trail. It's laid out in sections in the Ponderosa Pine Forest right behind (south) of the Payson Ranger Station.
It is easy to find and access from the parking area and could make a fun family outing with the kids while exposing them to some of the beauty and fauna of the Rim Country forest. There is an educational element to the trail too with several signs pointing out the species of trees and bushes. There are picnic tables in the area so you can bring a picnic lunch with you too.

MAP AND DIRECTION TIPS
From the stoplight intersection of Hwy 87 (Beeline Hwy) and Hwy 260 in Payson turn east. You will go about 1/2 mile and see the entrance to the Payson Ranger Station on the right (south) side of the highway. Turn in and pull back into the parking area.
