My Trail Review:

Fall 2006

I pulled out of the Trailhead parking and began back down the FR 32 for about 1/8 a mile then turned to my left (east) on 32A for a short drive to park near the Phelps Dodge Pump Station where the Pump House Station Trail begins. It ends at Highline Trail TR 31 where I turned around and came back to my vehicle the way I had came.

This is a short little spur trail. An easy hike through some exotic looking rock formations and little spring fed creeks. If you are in the area with your children who are old enough to walk with you this would make a great little family adventure trail.

Enjoy the Rim!

MAP AND DIRECTION TIPS
Take the very scenic two lane Highway 87 north out of Payson to Control Road FS 64 which will be on your right (east) side of the road shortly after you pass the entrance to the Tonto Natural Bridge. You will take this forest service gravel road approximately 5 to 6 miles and then cross a small bridge, then continue on FR 64 until you come to FR 32. Take FR 32 (left) north about 5 miles to the Washington Park Trailhead parking area.
