My Trail Review:

Fall 2006

The See Spring Trail spurs from the See Canyon Trail about 3/4 mile from See Canyon (TH) and ends at the spring.

This is a short little one-way (ie go in and come back out) trail that you can add into your day hike of the See Canyon Trail if you have the time. There is really not a lot to see. I followed the creek bed trail to what appeared to be a spring source but I was not really sure as it was not marked or visually identifiable.

If you are not intending on doing the more difficult See Canyon Trail and yet are spending some time at the See Canyon Trailhead, especially if you have children who are old enough to walk in this far with you, they might really enjoy the trickling creek bed and forest experience here. It would make an enjoyable light day hike adventure out of it for the whole family.

Enjoy the Rim!

MAP AND DIRECTION TIPS
Go east out of Payson, Arizona on Highway 260 an excellent scenic Rim Country highway which you will travel east for some time on. When you see the first turnoff to Christopher Creek's downtown area on your left (north) side of the road, turn and drive into town watching on your left for the FR 284 entrance. Turn left (north) on FR 284, a gravel forest service road, and travel about 2 miles to the See Canyon Trailhead. You will find plenty of parking, toilets and even a corral for horses. Follow well marked signs to trail entrance.
