My Trail Review:
Watson Lake is a fun family park to enjoy the whole day at. From picnics, boating, fishing to short hiking trails, there is lots to do and all are well designed and maintained. There is plenty of paved parking, restrooms, pavillions, new clean park benches located thoughout the park with relaxing scenic views, and the short trails are easy to follow and well marked while offering great views of the lake and surrounding scenic Prescott area.
Over all Watson Lake is top of the line Prescott area outdoors city hiking. Great views, quiet peaceful rest areas, excellent amenities and all just a few miles outside of downtown Prescott.

This is a short city park type lakeside hiking trail. No elevation changes, some shade along the way and awesome views of the lake and surrounding area.
You can enter this trail from the parking area by walking down to the lake from the right side of the parking lot area (facing the lake). You will find the trail on the west side of the lake running right along side of it to the southern end.
This is a fun little trail for all the family who can get out and walk about a mile round trip at a leisurely pace. There is no real altitude gain or hill climbing. The trail is reasonably flat and well maintained. There are lots of scenic view park benches along the way and a cute little wooden bridge that crosses over the creek. The trail features beautiful cottonwood trees.
On the south end the creek was lighty running down into the lake. I followed the trail along the lakeside, spotting several groups of ducks enjoying the cool and breezy yet well sunlit day. At the south end the trail crosses over the creek to the east and ends at the juction with the Peevine Trail.
Enjoy the Hike!
